ODIRS embarks on road projects in 15 best communities on LUC payment


No fewer than fifteen communities across Ondo State have benefitted from the Community Impact Projects (CIP) of the State Internal Revenue Service (ODIRS).

The communities, according to a document from the ODIRS, a copy of which was made available to The Hope included seven in Akure South local government, four in Ondo West and two communities each in Akure North and Odigbo local government areas respectfully.

The document explained that the seven projects from Akure South, included three street light projects at Ikare street, Ekiti Avenue and Akoko Avenue within Ijapo Estate area and grading of four road projects at Apatapiti/Elekirun road(FUTA Area), Millennium Village road(SEEBI area), Afunbiowo Estate roads(OkeAro), Ajipowo area.

The document also mentioned two benefiting communities in Akure North local government area at Gloryland internal roads(Igoba) and Oba-Ile extension where they had their internal roads graded.

Also four roads grading were done in Ondo West at Valentino internal roads, road 9 Funmbi-Fagun crescent, Ade Super Road and Ota Sora street, Odojomu.

In Odigbo local government area, the document showed that Idi Mango and Powerline road benefited from grading of roads.

Speaking on the development, the State Chairman of Internal Revenue Service, Mr. Tolu Adegbie said the projects were sponsored by the Internal Revenue Service.

Adegbie said the beneficiaries were those that have the highest paid Land Use Charge.

He explained that the CIP was effected to further encourage the payment of Land Use Charge as well as encouraging other local government areas to comply and make payment accordingly.

The Community Impact Projects , Adegbie said is a continuous one which will be implemented at every quarter to assist the best community in the payment of the Land Use Charge in their respective local government areas.

He however restated the readiness of the revenue service to commence full enforcement of the Land Use Charge any moment from now which he said has long over due.
